A Grill-Worthy Irresistible Chicken Marinade Recipe

Sometimes it’s a struggle to feel like eating chicken for dinner is an exciting option, especially when you eat it multiple nights a week. But with the right ingredients and the right marinade, eating chicken can feel enticing again.

Grill-Worthy Basil-Marinated Chicken


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon chopped red onion
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Preparation Directions:

In a mixing bowl, combine the oil, red wine vinegar, chopped onion, sea salt and whole peppercorns. Whisk thoroughly, and transfer the marinade to a sealable plastic bag.

Put the boneless skinless chicken breasts inside the plastic bag, seal and refrigerate between 3 and 6 hours.

When you’re ready to grill, remove the chicken from the marinade and grill on medium to high heat until browned, or between 4 and 5 minutes on each side.

Side Dish Tip: Grilled Squash


  • 3-4 yellow squash or zucchini
  • 1 garlic glove, minced
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ sea salt
  • ¼ fresh cracked peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation Directions:

Halve the squash or zucchini.

Combine marinade ingredients in a mixing bowl. Use a brush to apply the marinade to the squash, but be careful to save some for use while grilling.

Place the squash on medium to high heat and grill for 4 to 5 minutes on each side. Brush squash with some of the marinade before turning to grill the other side.
