3 Deliciously Cheesy Appetizers That Will Win Over Any Crowd

Whether you’re attending a tailgating party, family picnic or finally having that game night you’ve been talking about, these dip recipes will be the talk of the evening (and maybe even become a tradition!)

Crunchy & Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip

“Buff Chick Dip” is one of those must-have platters at every BBQ, Picnic, and sporting event. Our version has a cream cheese bottom, with a melty center and celery on top to add a nice crunch to it.

Unsure about the crunch? Don’t knock it ’till you try it!

Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup any flavor hot sauce
  • 2 ounces crumbled blue cheese or shredded mozzarella cheese (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 all-natural boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 10 oz), cooked
  • 2 ribs of celery
  • Vegetables, tortilla chips, or crackers for dipping

Preparation 

  1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Spread the cream cheese along the bottom of a 9-inch deep dish pie plate until it’s smooth.
  3. In a bowl, combine dressing, hot sauce, and chicken. (if you like it hot, feel free to add a little more hot sauce.)
  4. Spread the mixture over top of the cream cheese.
  5. Sprinkle the blue or mozzarella cheese on top of the dip. Be careful not to add too much cheese here, as it can cause a thick film on top.)
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until the dip is hot and bubbling.
  7. Meanwhile, chop up the celery into small bite size pieces.
  8. Once you take the dip out of the oven, sprinkle the celery over top.
  9. Serve with vegetables, tortilla chips, or crackers for dipping.

Pizza Dip

Yep, you read that right, Pizza Dip. This one is sure to be a crowd pleaser with the kids (but it’s also a huge hit with the adults too… I mean come on, who doesn’t like pizza!) Just like regular pizza, you can top this dip with your favorite pizza toppings like chicken, sausage, pepperoni, black olives, and anything else you like on your pizza!

The best part about this dip is that it only takes 5 minutes to prep and you can make it without dirtying a single bowl!

Prep time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 – 25 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella cheese, divided (3/4 cup + 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese, divided (1/2 cup + 1/2 cup)
  • 1 heaping cup pizza sauce (or your favorite marinara or red sauce)
  • Toasted french bread, baguettes, pita chips, crackers or Fritos for serving
  • Optional: feel free to add your favorite pizza toppings to the dip!

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F
  2. Spray a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray.
  3. Spread the cream cheese over the base of pie dish.
  4. Evenly sprinkle 3/4 cup mozzarella over cream cheese and then a 1/2 cup Parmesan.
  5. Evenly add the pizza sauce to cover cheese and spread it our with a spoon or knife if necessary.
  6. Again, Evenly sprinkle 3/4 cup mozzarella and then a 1/2 cup of Parmesan over the sauce.
  7. Pick your toppings! Top the pizza dip with your favorite pizza toppings.
  8. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese has melted.
  9. Allow dip to cool before serving.

Dip is best warm and fresh, but extra will keep airtight in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Crockpot Chicken Taco Dip

One of the best things about using a crock pot is that you can transport it in that, and then just plug it in to keep it warm! This Chicken Taco Dip is so easy, your little ones could even help you with it!

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 1 Hour

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 package of taco seasoning
  • 1 can rinsed and drained black beans
  • 1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes with green chili’s
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 12 ounce bag shredded cheddar cheese
  • A dash of salt and pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips, vegetables or scoops
  • Optional: chopped jalapenos
  1. In medium pan cook ground chicken.
  2. Add all ingredients to the crock pot except the jalapenos.
  3. Turn crock pot on high and cook for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve with your choice of tortilla chips, vegetables or scoops.
  5. Leave the crock pot on warm to serve.
  6. For a little extra kick, sprinkle chopped jalapenos on top of the dip to serve.
